CCMC PULPIT CALENDAR
THE SEASON OF ADVENT & CHRISTMASTIDE
29 NOV – 31 DEC 2020
The season of Advent, from the Latin word adventus (“coming” or “visit"), begins four Sundays before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. Advent is the of beginning the Christian liturgical year. During Advent, we prepare for, and anticipate, the Coming of Christ. Even as we look back and celebrate the birth of Jesus in a humble stable in Bethlehem, we also look forward, anticipating the Second Coming of Christ.
The Christmas season lasts from sundown on December 24 (Christmas Eve) through Epiphany of the Lord (January 6). This is sometimes referred to as "the twelve days of Christmas". God entered our world, not as a conqueror but an infant, demonstrating the depth of God's love — and a radical vision of peace and love — for all.
With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all.
Acts 4:33 (NIV)
